In the beginning of this new century, not much has changed in regards to the enormous gap put in place that separates the rich from the poor. One thing that has changed within the past decade is the availability of online education. There are many opportunities that simply were not available to people before, as most simply did not have the time to be able to work a full time job in order to pay for classes, and attend the classes as well. Attending class becomes especially hard with children. However, now all that is needed is a few hours in front of the computer in order to take complete college courses.

While the country is in an apparent crisis at the moment, this is reflected within many of our lives as we experience varying degrees of financial, emotional, or personal disasters. One excellent way to make a positive change in life is to seek other employment, but unfortunately, higher education is often a requirement to finding a better a career. This used to mean becoming embroiled in a vigorous schedule and budget that meant that little else but work, and school could be managed at one time, if at all. Online classes are not much more expensive than the average University class, and sometimes even cheaper. If the budget remains a problem despite many online college's offering competitive prices, remember that one or two classes can be taken at a time. After all, what is the rush? It may be best to take your education slowly, and fully absorb all of the class material.

There are some downsides to taking the online education route, but they are surmountable with a good amount of willpower involved. Lessons can be taken at any given pace, but the student must be able to apply the effort necessary to properly learn from the classes. This can be difficult when not in a class room setting. Having the presence of an instructor is also something that many miss when they take online classes. Emailing back and forth between a professor is much more difficult than simply approaching his desk and asking a question.

There are many different online classes that can be taken for a variety of different courses. Some examples include schools of Theology, biotechnology courses, journalism degrees, and online construction classes. Be creative, and perhaps the hobbies in your life can be turned into a lucrative and viable career option, such as carpentry. Even entry level positions for carpenters are often paid over seventeen dollars an hour, due to the skills necessary to finish the job. A hobby that originally consisted of simply painting miniatures or assembling models can be transformed into something entirely different using a business degree – a hobby shop.

If you are disturbed by the actions of politicians as of late, perhaps one of the accredited online political science schools would be a swell choice. Many have said that all this country truly needs is a large scale grass roots movement of its populace, and if more hard-working honest folks started taking up simply local offices to begin with, this country would be much better off. Government corruption cannot be completed in the midst of a well knowledgeable and attentive populace. The fight against corruption within the government and corporatocracy influences on our government must be done using truth and knowledge, and not violent rebellions. Many are told not to bother with further education thanks to the harsh economic climate, but that is the last course of action one should take. What better way is there to eliminate ignorance and improve your livelihood for the better with online classes.

Hannah McKale recently received her Masters in Political Science, and is currently seeking a Ph.d program. McKale focuses much of her writing on the international political economy. When she is not working she is often traveling the world, or advocating for online universities.
