Dr. Fusco on the CAPSS Letter to the State Legislature

It is no surprise that he is advocating more taxes to keep education afloat based on practices and procedures that are laden with waste and mismanagement. This is why CAPSS is opposed to citizen audit committees that have revealed such excesses.

The reality is that if districts cut back on expenditures it could impact their membership to CAPSS. He is already getting a pension as a retired school superintendent and the handsome salary he receives from CAPSS is over and above the pension.

If CAPSS was really interested in doing the best for the schools and the children they would aggressively support objective audits of their expenditures to ensure that there is no waste and mismanagement. Of course, he would claim that there is no waste and mismanagement and if the organization really believed that, why oppose citizens from auditing school expenditures unless, of course, he fears that they would find waste as has been done in several districts.

In other words, CAPSS and their counterpart CABE do not believe in accountability and transparency—they fear the results.
