From Mike Alberts...

Dear neighbor,

Is your refrigerator on the fritz?  Does your air conditioner only put out hot air in the summer heat?  Well, the state, through a federally funded program, can save you money when you replace your old inefficient appliances.

Connecticut is on track to receive nearly $3.4 million from the federal government to fund the State Energy Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP).  The program will offer $50 rebates for the purchase and installation of Energy Star rated refrigerators, freezers, and room air conditioners.  Clothes washers will be eligible for a $100 rebate if they meet Energy Star CEE Tier 2 standards and central air conditioning systems are eligible for a $500 rebate.

Phase I of the program is anticipated to begin in January 2010 and run through March 31, 2010. A second phase will be implemented after that if funding is still available.  This represents an earlier starting date than many other states that are eligible for the federally funded program.

Rebate forms will be available at appliance retailers, utility companies and on the state website-   www.ct.gov/opm - when the program officially begins.

Don’t miss out on your chance to offset the cost of buying a new more efficient appliance that can also reduce your monthly utility bills.

Regards,

Representative Mike Alberts

I have some old clothes that are worn and torn. I'm hoping that after cars for clunkers and appliances for clunkers, the government will start giving out rebates for old clothing. I really need some new clothing. If only the rich taxpayers could pay for my new clothing then maybe I could get a job. It would be cheaper for the rich taxpayers to pay for my new clothing then for them to pay for my unemployment benefits. Please Mr.Obama. Send me some money for new clothing. If it weren't for George Bush I wouldn't have lost my job, so I think the taxpayers owe it to me. Thanks Mr. Alberts! You must be one of those good liberal Republicans!
