Positive Changes on the BOE
Update: Video of the Vote added below (Duration 6:38)
In what appeared to be a big surprise to Lindsay Paul and Kevin Ford, in a vote that may be a sign of things to come, Tony Walker was installed as the new Chair of the BOE with Scott Sincerbeaux becoming Vice Chair.
My view is that this is a very good thing for the children and parents of Woodstock, although it will take some time to repair the damage and clean up the mess which is the legacy of Lindsay Paul and the rest of the ‘Breen party’.
As anyone who knows me will tell you, I am very much pro-education despite what you may hear and read; however, I am not pro-empire. There is no justification for what has gone on in Woodstock under her direction with regard to the empire building, lies and propaganda, improper spending and budget manipulation…the list goes on.
Another prime example is that prior to the new board members being installed, Lindsay Paul “resigned” Bill Loftus of his post as BOE representative to the Academy and installed Kevin Ford without discussion or a vote in a last ditch effort to continue the on-going assault; however, as has been confirmed by two attendees, it appears that she may have forgotten to inform Mr. Loftus of his “resignation”, as at the last Academy BOT meeting, Mr. Loftus arrived and sat at the table, shortly thereafter in walks Kevin Ford. Frank Baran quickly whispered to Loftus who then moved to the audience. There will be more on what really went on behind the scenes over the last couple of weeks with regard to the power struggle for the BOE leadership in an upcoming article- you don’t want to miss it.
With what I know of Tony, it will be a brand new day where the “shadow board” will cease to exist. People I have spoken with speak highly of Scott Sincerbeaux and I wish him well in his tenure.
Tony Walker and the others who bring transparency to this board have my full confidence and support. As a new member of the Board of Finance, I will be all ears to hearing about new and well defined programs to serve the interest of all of Woodstock’s children, and will do whatever I can to help promote open dialog with Woodstock citizens and taxpayers in bringing them to fruition responsibly and transparently. As I have said and written many times; I don’t care what we spend in favor of the children as long as it is approached correctly and done in open cooperation with all of the stakeholders.
The new BOE leadership has its work cut out and the writing on the wall is not all that cryptic in that more changes may occur in fairly short order to the further benefit of Woodstock’s children, parents and taxpayers.
Congratulations Woodstock, after this long struggle a new day is finally here. Now is a great time for parents and taxpayers alike to engage with the BOE for the benefit of education in our town.

Mr. Powers:
You wrote

Do you have any thoughts as to how this statement would apple to Woodstock Academy? I would agree that the public schools are not perfect, but I've not seen much about WA here.
Hi Jeff, and please call me Craig. I do have some thoughts on this (surprise, right?) and I will be happy to get back to you in the next couple of days as I can find the time- thanks.
