I've heard from Mr. Courtney's office that this is a forum on healthcare. I've asked his office to clarify the structure for this meeting. Questions from the public allowed? They were unsure. I will have my questions ready. I see that Mr. Courtney now has a video on his web site where he speaks to his constituents. I also notice that his letters are much more considerate of my opinion than they have been in the past, where one usually got the same old letter, with Mr. Courtney spouting his opinion and disregarding the caller's concerns. I think he is afraid of coming home. Welcome home Mr. Courtney! It will be nice to see you and hear your responses!
It would have been nice if the WDTC, who is sponsoring this event, provided the information that "Concerned" is concerned about. It would have also been nice if the WDTC made this information more readily available to the public. This is a very important issue and an excellent opportunity for those who oppose governement takeover of healthcare and increased taxation to fund it, to give this tax and spend liberal congressman a piece of their mind. Thank you admin. for posting.
From a recent committee email-
The Woodstock Democratic Town Committee is sponsoring a Town Hall Forum this Thursday, Aug. 6, at 6:30 at Woodstock Academy’s student commons. Representative Joe Courtney will speak about the status of the reform efforts in the House and Senate, and take questions and comments from the audience.
It is likely that a group opposed to any government hand in health care will be there. They have been travelling to town hall forums and have sometimes disrupted events. The press will also be covering the event."All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."

Admin., You have successfully outlined for us the flaws, the hypocricy, the wastefulness, and the corruption of government-run education. Now imagine this: Imagine the BOE being in charge of your healthcare. Pretty scary isn't it?
I'm hoping opposition to Nancy Pelosi's sock puppet (Mr. Courtney) comes out strong and fierce.
Obamacare is a dangerous precedent which we cannot afford. Being witness to the atrocities of government run education in Ct. and in Woodstock, we should all be fearing government takeover of healthcare.
Shame on the hypocricy of the local WDTC who supports such an effort and is willing to undermine Woodstock's middle class in order to push a liberal agenda.
Hey, didn't see you at the "Town Hall Meeting" tonight. What happened? It was a huge disappointment, so you didn't miss much if you weren't there. Thank-you for posting that this was happening.....I wouldn't have known otherwise.
