Take Care and Good Luck...
I wish to convey my sincere thanks to all of you who are aware and have supported the fight for right. I have been involved in political maneuverings at the State and National level in the past and haven’t ever experienced anything quite like this, nor would I have expected an arrogance or sleaze level quite this disgusting in a beautiful little town such as this. If you are not aware, keep your blinders on, you might be better off.
I received the docket on the SEEC complaint yesterday and it will go forward. My understanding is that additional complaints are being filed by a number of others against the BOE, the PTO and John and Becki Leavitt. It appears that the BOE and their supporters have crossed the line more than once regarding this referendum, to protect the empire.
The bad news is that tonight at the BOE meeting, Lindsay Paul will probably push through a motion to turn it over to Shipman to handle, which is permissible under SEEC rules. Read: tens of thousands of dollars in continuing to protect the empire at the expense of the children of Woodstock.
My web tools indicate that Shipman has been combing the Truth site for hours over the last few days- I have no doubt that we are paying for that as well, by the hour. Corporate IP addresses are identifiable, individuals are not.
Upon information and belief it is also clear to me that Shipman has orchestrated the promotion of the Café at the Hartford Courant and you have paid for that as well. This game runs far deeper than any of you might guess or want to know and you are paying for it every day in terms of dollars, the education of our children, and the perception of our town to the rest of the state and beyond.
I have also decided to not continue writing the blog regularly. If anyone is interested in continuing it for the right reasons, it is available; otherwise it will remain as does the Coalition site.
Our brief for the Second Circuit appeal is due on July 13 and I will be focusing my attention on that for the next week or two, otherwise I am taking back my life and counting the days until we leave Woodstock- the only reason we are still here is so that my son’s education is not disrupted again.
He and I took the day off yesterday to play golf and it was wonderful- I had almost forgotten...
It has been my pleasure to serve in pursuit of this town’s best interests and it is an experience that I am proud of, cost my family plenty and that I will never forget or regret.
With regard to the vilification currently taking place, it reminded me of this quote-
“You may be as vicious about me as you please. You will only do me justice.”
Take care and good luck,
-Craig Powers

It is a sad day when the sheep have won.
Thank YOU Craig, for all YOUR hard work on behalf of the kids. They are the ones who will suffer the consequences.

I don't get on here as much as I'd like but I would like to thank you for all that you have done. Not sure where we will get the truth now.
Thank you!

You're welcome. I have received many phone calls and emails today asking me to continue and my response so far has been this- I encourage people to go to the meetings themselves and submit their writings for publication. I will help with editing and such, but it will be difficult for me to write with accuracy and passion without having attended the meetings which I no longer have the time or inclination for. I don't even have a 'dog in this fight' other than I am pro-education (not pro-empire). It's up to the parents of the PK-8 set to get involved and experience this for themselves.
The information is still flowing this way however, and I have heard today that Lindsay Paul called Mr. Rosendahl and was rather condescending- which has energized him to continue the fight and I hope that he does. He will need support.
The other tid-bits of the day that will reveal themselves shortly as to whether they are true, are that some believe that Mrs. Leavitt will be named the new Transportation Manager this evening- which would be an obvious quid-pro quo for being a pawn in the battle- hilarious and disgusting all in the same thought. Also, Mr. Musumeci may be being set up to take the fall on the mismanagement of the readiness grant.
If these prove to be true, hopefully someone will point out the stench eminating from the empire...

Received a few updates this morning and Mrs. Leavitt did not get the position.
The good news is that we certainly had an effect on the operation of the BOE. Some parents actually showed up!
As mentioned, the site will remain in place- it's all here- all you have to do is go back and read and view the video and the picture becomes clear...

“It's up to the parents of the PK-8 set to get involved and experience this for themselves”
I have a great deal of respect for the parents of the Woodstock children. I also have a great deal of fear for them and their children.
I have read Mrs. Leavitt’s Café hate blog and I shudder to think she and the others who feed into the slanderous vicious hateful words and opinions are representative of BOE, teacher’s, educators and staff of WPS.
We have witnessed how important items like bus drivers destroying taxpayer’s property have been swept under the rug. I can’t help but wonder what would have been done if children had been hurt or killed.
Yes the BOE and Café have won the vote and this battle but the war lingers on.” It’s not over till it's over”. The State, the Town and who knows who is watching Woodstock now; it’s just a matter of time. Unfortunately it’s the children who will suffer.
Keep your eyes open on how much equipment that has been purchased for the school are being used by the employees at home. Reporting this is everybody’s responsibility. Sending anonymous letters to State and Local elected officials can only help stop what is going on.
Stop living in fear, use Google or other search engines to acquire addresses to send your letters. We are entitled to quiet enjoyment and peaceful quiet community. We are entitled to know what our money is being spent on and by whom.
Craig Powers, Preston Shultz, Lisa Rapose, Dave Richardson, Steven Rosendahl have stuck their necks out for you all. Please don’t let the efforts be ineffectual or unsuccessful; futile, vain efforts. Let’s thank them by keeping on the fight, get involved and your children will thank you for it someday.
