It appears that my 15 minutes aren’t up quite yet. I cannot express my jubilation at having the coveted honor of having a link to Truth over at the Aljazeera Café albeit listed below Siberia.  This actually is a bit of a downgrade as in the old days I had my very own island paradise on Orkney bestowed upon me by Mrs. Leavitt. (Who needs MV?)

Despite how much fun we appear to be having with the parlor games, personal attacks and Mr. Breen’s memory of alleged conversations in passing had many years ago (taken out of context) as well as my alleged agenda, the fact is that there are very important issues facing this Town with regard to residents being able to continue to fund the silly BOE crusades and administrative manipulations designed to misdirect townspeople from the issues that are crucial to our children and our livelihood.

I for one am not interested in continuing to build an empire for the comfort of ‘old school’ administrators and their enablers who are incapable of being straight with parents and citizens.

There is an awful lot of talk from the BOE leadership about preparing our children for the 21st century. I would like to know how they plan on achieving this goal while supporting worn out tactics from the likes of dinosaurs such as Superintendent Frank Baran and SPED Director Trish Lustila, who, in this little diatribe published in 2005 tells you exactly what she thinks of parents and their ability to raise their own children- interesting mindset and very progressive don’t you think? Mrs. Breen happens to work directly for this woman, and my wife for her for many years out of love for the children.

As history clearly shows, Joe ‘Snuffy’ Breen hasn’t been right about much of anything around here for a very long time and after reading his ethereal, wide ranging protectionist views regarding teachers unions, among other subjects, especially considering his high position in the 'Husbands of Teachers' organization; it is his agenda that appears to be highly suspect.

After being here 20 years and so far twice experiencing the school system from beginning to end, he was right about one thing in my opinion, and I will quote him directly: “The Academy is the saving grace of the Woodstock school system”. 

And it will continue to be as long as the K-8 operates in the current manner, unless of course they are successful in destroying it in pursuit of building out the empire.

I would like to commend ‘Newcomer’ for pointing out the fact that nothing will come of any of this until there is direct meaningful action by those concerned- and I don’t mean supporting the status quo.

As to my agenda, there has been one overriding philosophy throughout my involvement in this mess, and that is to leave this Town better than I found it, whenever that may come to pass. And pursuing that goal with honesty and integrity; which based upon the history, Mr. Breen et alia clearly cannot claim.
