The Sock Puppet misinformation campaign over at the Aljazeera Café never ceases to entertain.
Master of political strategy (not), Joe ‘Snuffy’ Breen, along with BOE bus driver bully from hell Becki Leavitt and her husband (also from hell) appear to be preparing us for the November elections a little early with more nonsensical rants of misdirection. I smell fear.
So let’s be clear. My name is Craig Powers and I am the sole proprietor of this blog. Others contribute from time to time including Dave Richardson who invariably signs his name to everything he writes as do most of the others.
Without fail I attribute any third party articles to their creators anonymous or otherwise; therefore, anything else you read here is written by me in this font. The subtlety of different fonts used for those writing seems to be lost on the enlightened ones.
If you have questions or comments that you don’t wish to address by comment or email, I’m in the book as is Dave and we stand by every word. And we have the facts to back them up. Any source material is available to you for the asking.
So who or what to believe; anonymous propaganda by the BOE sock puppets or those who have done the homework? You decide.
Why do you call that site "Aljazeera Café"? (serious inquiry) Is it to do with the Arab connotation? I don't understand the reference (and it relates to 'who to believe'). Thanks.
No, it has nothing to do with an Arab connotation. It is a tongue in cheek reference to the sort of propaganda and skewed view put forth by most of the participants. My apologies if the reference was vague. Thanks for the inquiry.
When commenting on the Aljazeera Café be careful. Should you or your family disagree with the propaganda they preach and believe in you could be banished to Siberia.
This is a perfect example however, of a communistic dictatorship, with a do as we say or leave philosophy.
Peaceful debates do not exist on that site, lots of hate PG rated...
Both sites seem willing to print 'opposing' comments. Both 'sides' vehemently deride the other side and label the other side's Positions to be 'Propaganda'. Neither site has a monopoly on the Truth and both sites are guilty, as we all are, of flaws and imperfections. I like reading and commenting on both sites - the only 'peaceful' debates I've seen, however, are when everyone agrees with and congratulates each other. I do agree that many comments are too personal and insulting and I've commented that Divisiveness is counter-productive.
I've seen the word 'hate' used several times with regard to both sites recently and it's a misuse of the English Language to call either site a "Hate Site/Blog". I don't think that there's "lots of hate" on either site. Certainly there are a lot of comments reflecting bitter dislike (on both sites), but a true "Hate Site/Blog" is SO much more extreme and, well, hateful. There is simply no comparison. A good example of 'lots of hate' is a site advocating extreme violence, calling for the immediate extermination of certain groups based on race, religion and other wacked-out criteria. White Supremecy sites, KKK sites, Nazi sites - THOSE have 'lots of hate'; those are Hate Blogs. Both Woodstock sites contain vehement disagreements, but participants on both sites seem to desire what's best for our community - they simply disagree on (what seems like every single aspect of) how to bring this about.
Finally, I think that calling woodstockcafe the "Aljazeera Cafe" is inappropriate and 'below' this site. It also seems disingenuous considering the standards articulated in the 'About The Blog' statement. Aljazeera is a strong and provocative choice specifically because Aljazeera is accused of 'anti-American' and 'pro-terrorists' bias. If it's meant to imply that woodstockcafe has an anti-American bias, then that seems to go beyond 'tongue in cheek'. If that implication/association is not intended, then it seems ill-chosen as a sarcastic name.
Well Con, not much to argue here other than your characterization of "anti-american bias" regarding my little nickname. That would be taking it too far. It probably has as much to do with my particular sarcastic sense of humor as anything else- I certainly find it more humorous than the "un-truth"...how witty (not).
If you are familiar with how SEO and the web works, there is some method to the madness as neither of us are too keen on mentioning the other site by actual name- although we both seem to do a nice job with taking shots at each other by given and surname...all part of the little web game.
There is quite a lot more history here than you probably realize- as said before; they called the tune around three years ago with an article that no longer appears on the "AC" (innapropriate doesn't even begin to describe it) and I will finish the fight by whatever means I deem neccessary, with supporting facts. In addition, there is no excuse under the Sun for elected officials to be involved in this in any way, but they are for calculated and nefarious purposes, and way deeper than you know.
I guess some would call it vendetta as I have been accused by John Leavitt and Joe Breen, but as with any man worth his salt, if you screw with my family you will ultimately pay the price, end of story.
While I understand your perspective, I don't neccessarily have to agree with it.
