What's a Blue Dog?
No, it’s not Muddy Waters' old hound. There is a growing movement in the Democrat Party that promotes fiscal responsibility that has been in existence for more than 13 years which has built a reputation as a serious player in the policy arena, promoting positions which bridge the gap between ideological extremes. How refreshing...See their website -HERE-
There are a number of Blue Dogs up for election this year and the group is already having an effect on Mr. Obama should he be elected our next president. See the article -HERE-
For those of you still sitting on the fence or if McCain and his nightmare VP pick aren’t for you, this should give you some food for thought…if only we had some Blue Dogs in Hartford…

The Obama/Biden ticket does not represent blue dog democrats. They are, in fact, two of the most liberal senators who's platform represents "spread the wealth" dogma...a dogma that is much much scarier than Sarah Palin. Let's hope if Obama does win that the conservative Republicans and the blue dog democrats can successfully stone wall his initiatives. Recent polls are now showing that the Democratic congress may not be gaining the majority that Pelosi and Hollywood are hoping for. Now, that's encouraging!
Tax, it appears that there is just no hope for you. I post an article to show that there is a way to bridge the ideological chasm and you defend Palin- a corrupt no-mind. Yuck! Your scare tactic dogma scares me. Good luck my friend.
Yes there is a bridge to close the gap. The blue dog Democrats and the Republicans can do that and WE can do that here in Woodstock...but not Obama and Biden. These are not scare tactics. They are the facts...oh, but I forgot, facts don't matter with liberals so long as they "feel uplifted".
What facts do you feel so comfortable with from McCranky and Caribou Barbie? Must be more of the facts we have seen for the last eight years. More of the same decider oppression and no change suits conservatives just fine, right? As far as the "liberal" comment, maybe on some social issues, otherwise please remember who you are talking to...
The Zogby poll now showing McCain 48% to Obama's 47%. This is great news because Zogby is one of the better, more honest polls (unlike the CBS/NYTimes poll you quoted). McCain is winning back the blue collar independents who are finally waking up to the dangers of voting for someone like Obama who is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
No problem! Gallup- Obama 52% to McCain's 41% (my poll is better than your poll)
This is getting ridiculous don't you think? Let's talk on Wednesday.
Tax- Music to my ears, are you listening? If only it could be a reality.
HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) -- Democrat Barack Obama says voters can end divisive politics "once and for all" if they elect him to the White House in three days.
Hunting for votes one last time in Nevada, Obama told an estimated 15,000 people Saturday that their will is more powerful than "the politics of anything goes."
'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.'
-Thomas Jefferson 1802
Quite a hefty promise by Mr. Obama don't you think? We can't even end the divisiveness here in Woodstock for God's sake. But I sincerely wish him and you lots of luck. It has to start somewhere.

Unofficial logo of the Coalition Blue Dog Democrats are a group of 47 moderate and conservative Democratic Party members of the United States House of Representatives. [1] The Blue Dogs promote, among other things, fiscal conservatism and accountability. Many members come from conservative districts, where liberal Democrats comprise a decided minority of the general population.[citation needed] In 2006, Blue Dog candidates such as Heath Shuler and Brad Ellsworth were elected in conservative-leaning districts, ending years of Republican dominance in these districts. In 2008, the Blue Dogs' prominence as a voting block was highlighted by their support for a FISA compromise that provided immunity to large telecom companies who had been accused of assisting the government in capturing communication involving US citizens.
