Commendable but What Does it Mean?

State Representative Mike Alberts (Republican, 50th District) stepped out in front today with campaign ads touting open and transparent government on WINY and in a full page ad in the Shoppers’ Guide by tying Sherri Vogt to Joe Breen and the Breen/Academy proposal (See some of the documents -HERE- ), seemingly a bold move for Mike and I commend him for it.

Being a curious sort of fellow, I would like to inquire of Mike as to what this means to him and how this will manifest itself if he is reelected. So Mike, please add some color to this platform. The floor is yours…

    Political Suicide ....

Michael Alberts along with the banking industry is looking for security. Grabbing at anything that will make voters fill in the oval and keep him in office. Ya! have to ask yourself "DO you feel lucky"? The only time you see Mike is when he's with his clique stacking the deck at a town meeting. He has a special interest in somethings but does not support the majority of voters. He offered no support to protect Prop 46, he has done nothing to tax freeze a seniors property tax. He states Connecticut is the #1 example of how NOT to run a state. The only time he comes alive is election time. He wants credit for saving Woodstock Academy so I guess the BOE isn't on his special interest list. The Breen people won't vote for him now. Hope he is a better banker?

It's time for change! "In the pocket too" If you can't be with the one you love, love the one your with? Right!

Well at least with Mike doesn't work behind the scenes with the likes of the BOE and Joe Breen to destabilize an institution that is delivering a very good product at an excellent price which is called "value". Vogt is a dangerous person not living in a community and then attacking an institution that is held with respect by the residents.

I can't see how another democrat will help this spending spree the democrats seem to have been on. In regards to "What has Mike done for me lately?", he has voted FOR the 3-strikes-you're-out bill to put serious criminals behind bars FOR LIFE; something that the democrats (almost to a person, rejected). Sherri Vogt's platform includes family safety. How? I don't hear her out there rejecting her party's vote against 3-strikes. But, I haven't been listening to WINY, either. Does anyone know what her plans are for this issue? Sheri?

Re: Woodstock BOE vs. Woodstock Academy Board, I've seen those memos (thanks to this web site). Why would Sheri's name be included other than the fact that she was involved in the Joe Breen takeover attempt? And now she wants to back out?

I just know that Mike stands for a more limited government. He stands FOR the common man...Joe the Plumber, if you will. I don't get that sense from Sheri. I also know that Mike has good financial experience, and a frugality, to get us through these financially trying times that we'll be experiencing.

I am irritated, though, to hear that Governor Rell has asked Congress for a stimulus check to help our state. HELLO! What has our state done (exactly) with the casino money; with the money from income taxes, etc? Do we know? It is certainly not here now, is it!?

Yes. Just what we need, another stimulus check given to people that don't even pay taxes so they can go out and spend some more...as if the billions of dollars in credit card debt wasn't fun enough.

I think Mike is the lesser of two evils (Sheri Vogt), but do wish he had some Republican competition in order to prevent complacency.
