"Few men are willing to brave the disapproval of their fellows, the censure of their colleagues, the wrath of their society. Moral courage is a rarer commodity than
bravery in battle or great intelligence. Yet it is the one essential, vital quality of those who seek to change a world which yields most painfully to change."
- Robert F. Kennedy
Have Something to Say?
We encourage citizens to be involved in their government. If you have an issue that you would like to be publicized here, please submit your articles for consideration to:

Truth Has Its Rewards!
Monthly beginning in April, we will select a submitted article for recognition and the author will receive the coveted 'Truth' coffee mug pictured
below...Good luck!
Do we really need another blog in a small town like Woodstock? Absolutely. If you have read the initial entry you know exactly why.
As you may have noticed, comments are no longer open on any of the posted articles. Debating the anonymous lunatic fringe is not the point of such a publication in my opinion and is a huge waste of
time. So instead, I have linked the blog to my Facebook page where all of the blog entries are also posted and the debate has moved there. There are no restrictions on access to my Facebook page as I
have nothing to hide. However, as I have always encouraged people to make comments they are proud of, believe in and are able to stand behind, in order to post you will have to have a Facebook
account. So far this has negated the need to police unprovoked personal attacks and the like.
As always, if you have something to say that you aren't willing to make public, you have the option to drop me a line at woodstocktruth@charter.net and you will get a response if your comment
deserves one.
In order to access my Facebook page simply click the badge below. Thanks.

I'm not understanding you. Were you expecting a tax rebate?? Clearly a message was sent that the town wants conservative growth. This is understandable given the current economic climate. However, you are in the minority if you think people would want complete retraction of services and a tax rebate. You see in return for our taxes, we DO get something. Schools, roads, fire protection, administrative support for town functions, ect. In fact, if you are a parent or child, you are getting a pretty darn good deal on your tax dollars. The aproximate cost to educate a child is between $8000-$9000. Not many families with one or two kids are paying near that much in taxes. If you have a problem with how the budget was allocated, if you have a problem with the high cost of public education, if you worry about how retirees can fare with inflation and ever creeping taxes, then I am interested in hearing your point of view. However, if you are a greedy anarchic extremist masking your motives in the words of religion then you are no better than al-qaeda.

Once again less than 30% turn out to vote on the budget. I figure even with folks away on vacation that leaves us with more than half the voters in this town not voting. Not Voting! Don't seem to care one way or the other about the budget or their taxes!
That is truly pitiful and just another reason for all the problems we face in demanding transparency from our town government.
It has always been a small percent of people who sway history. Only about 20% of the early American colonists wanted to secede from England. Don't tire. We need people like you.

Nobody is against education just greedy professionals taking to much money in the name of Good, using children for an excuse. Who are you to judge and point a finger because others don't agree. Maybe you are on the wrong website? You should go after the State they are robbing us all.

Just sign me saddened and tired.
