He's Right- This Is Not a Game

Ernie St. Jean is right- This is not a game, it's the law whether some happen to like it or not. Mr. Hosmer's editorial in the Villager is not factually correct unless they have made blatant calculation errors not in favor of the taxpayers for the 30 years he speaks of. The other problem with his argument is that until recently Prop. 46 was not triggered- that's when the real fun began. The other thing he neglects to tell you is that he and Dave Richardson had civil discussions very early on in which it was suggested to Mr. Hosmer how to deal with this in order not to head down the road we are now on. Those suggestions were ignored in favor of arrogance.

Now cornered, the the tax and spend folks want everyone to excuse all of these issues so as not to harm the town or children- an insulting and ridiculous argument at best. There is plenty of time to clean up this mess. When our officials want to come clean and level with the taxpayers as has been suggested over and over again, I'm sure it will be considered...in the mean time the only answer that makes any sense is NO.
