Dave & Lindsay Live at BOF!
Apples, Oranges & Bananas? That was not my take away from the exchange. Below you will find video of last night’s discussion at the BOF meeting had between Dave Richardson and Lindsay Paul regarding the proposed BOE budget and resulting compounded annual growth rates.
I find it curious that Lindsay Paul and the “Blog of Spin” object to Mr. Richardson comparing the “proposed” budget in the growth calculations. If they see the proposed budget as truly different, apples to oranges as Lindsay Paul put it, from the actual budgets for the last three years, could it be that the proposed budget isn’t serious or else why the problem?
The real take away here is that the 4.67% increase proposed is really 2.3% for all High School related costs and 6.2% for BOE managed costs on declining enrollment of 8.5% for the time period ‘02/’03 through the projected for ‘08/’09.
So who’s really trying to sell us a fruit basket here? You decide.
The other obvious take away here is- Dave knows math...and yes, we have no bananas

Thank you, this information is great, I am so happy you have started this web site. Getting to meetings can sometimes be rough, but you and only you have made it possible for all interested tax payers to see and hear all that goes on in Woodstock.
Thanks Bill! If only we could get more taxpayers "interested" and engaged to be informed...
